Joining the Club
Membership at Marshfield Yacht Club is open to local boaters and community members. Applications require formal sponsorship by current members in good standing.
Membership Pathway
Membership at MYC follows a two-step process. New members first join as Associate Members for up to one year, a period for getting to know the club and its community. After demonstrating good standing, Associate Members may be elected to Regular Membership, the club's full, ongoing membership. Children of current Regular Members may apply directly to Regular Membership. All applicants must be sponsored by a current voting member in good standing.
Per the club's by-laws, Associate Membership is limited to 50 members at a time, so there is often a waiting list. New Associate Members are typically welcomed twice a year, in January and May.
What Membership Includes
Regular members enjoy full voting rights at club meetings and invitations to all club events, from the Blessing of the Fleet to the Change of Watch Dinner. Associate members enjoy most club privileges during their first year, with the exception of voting in officer elections, voting on membership applications, holding office, and permanent boat mooring/berthing privileges, which are reserved for Regular members.
